So, how was everyones event? I did well at first, 3-0, then tanked and went 3-3 at the end. The friends whose decks that i rebuilt after round two went and won 8th and 12th though -_-.
Red blue was awsome, got a frost titan, reverberate, magma pheonix and sword of vengence. (ps ko, i finally got a BOP!) Favorite thing to do was fling magma phoenix! hahahah, multiple times a game even.
Also, most epic plays were when i killed his magma pheonix, to kill my magma pheonix to finish him off rofl. Or the time i did a massive come back and hit my opponet for his full 20 damage when i was at 9 with a fire servent, reverberate and a lava axe.
The one pack i won as a prize had a jace in it though, so overall i did pretty well i think.
Also, on a side note, i caught a snook with my cast net today! yay!

I went 4-0 at my local prerelease. I had a GW creature deck with only 1 piece of 'removal': Excommunicate. I had one game where I had a slow start and the guy got me down to 3 before I stabilized myself. Eventually, he was at 18 and me at 3 and he had an Vengeful Archon, so I could not attack him without him killing me with it. I had to use my blinding mage to tap down my juggernaut so it wouldn't kill me. I knew that my only chance of victory was excommunicate the archon, and swing in one attack before he could replay and kill him. After thinning my deck with cultivate and garruk's packleader, I eventually drew my last card being the excommunicate and won because he didnt know he could activate the ability before it got bounced.

Mine sucked. Car died on the turnpike. Didn't get to play. Moved furniture all day instead.

I went 2-2 didn't really have much to play with. I ran a red, blue, green deck since my black and white where subpar. I only ran blue because of the card advantage it gave me. My deck was quite horrible and my win conditions were hoarding dragon, conundrum sphinx, and greater basisilisk or whatever that 3/5 deathoutch guy is called. So I died really easily to removal.

UPGRADE
Ended up going to a local one, and playing a sweet W/B flying deck where I would basically play flying dude after flying dude including 2 Serra Angels, an Angelic Arbiter, two of the 3W 3/2 fliers, and an assortment of other dudes. Went 3-1 and cut into the top eight in the top seat (I think two of the other top eight guys were like 2-0-2), and lost the rematch against my fourth round opponent to mana screw and Frost Titan (I couldn't actually do anything about a 6/6) and was single-eliminated into two-pack land.
Then I played a draft and was the only person taking Green cards. Unfortunately, my deck decided four was enough lands, and that all I wanted to draw was five drops two games in a row second round and lost there, too.
So not the total failure it once was.

I went 3-1 in the event I got to play. I had a terrible pool, with two dual lands that I couldn't play and two leylines that I couldn't play. Elvish archdruid was unplayable with 0 other elves in the pool, so Magma Phoenix was my only useful rare. I did have double lava axe and double Chandra's Outrage, and enough fixing to splash U in the GR deck for Mana Leak, Foresee, and Air Servant. Overall Shiv's Embrace won more games for me that anything. Prize support was really good, though, and I got 8 packs for my 3-1 finish.
The rest of the event I spent judging other people playing the format. Crystal Ball may be the best card in the format.
Oh yeah, in game three of the last match, I plummeted my own Magma Phoenix for the win. ;D

Clearly you should have demanded another.

it should have been a foil bankslayer and a bankslayer and that might have been decent

I did two 3v3 money drafts at the NH PTQ, went 2-1 in each. The second time I drafted a deck with triple Phylactery Lich. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I proved them!

The humor comes in when one realizes that he didn't get a single artifact.

Does anybody think that this format is even worse than M10? Maybe I'm just forgetting, but it seems like every draft deck I make is just terrible, though my opponents' decks are even worse.

I feel like the colors in M10 were more balanced power-wise Haven't really drafted enough yet to know though

I will say that in M11 there feels like there is a lot less natural synergy then some previous sets. But thats also part of being a core set, so it could just be that its a core set.
