wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/arcana/557So it seems that they are selling Mirrodin Besieged through 2 different booster packs for the prerelease. It sounds like these will only be for the prelease and it we won't see these wonky packs after that (imaging a draft... 2 scars packs and then you pick a faction >.>, way to give a good tell on what your drafting). So this prerelease is gonna be interesting to say the least with people picking between the two factions. I guess people have gotta take sides for this ;D.

This is pretty horrible. RPI won't be able to properly support everyone that shows up to play. No matter how many show up, we'll run out of one faction first, which means latecomers will have to play with the faction that they didn't want to play with. This could be as bad as showing up to a Scars event to find out you're playing Eldrazi sealed.

I agree - I am trying to get more information on how they are handling them from WotC

Can you sign up and not open packs? These things may be worth something if they only print very few.

That question is being debated on the DCI judge chat - hopefully we will have an answer before the PR

The foil promo followed closely by the spoilers of chase rares will almost certainly determine a lot of people's factions. I know I'll pick the faction with the promo I want.
