So the WPN just made an announcement that is really really bad for us I'm currently looking into alternatives\solutions. Unfortunately, I'm also on my way out of town for the weekend. But rest assured that this is a very high priority for me, and I will have more information next week. Andrew

Brick and Mortar stores are too cool for playing M11 instead of the Prerelease? I think everybody should get the opportunity to get garbage promos for a set that's been out for half a year!

I really don't like this. In particularly, this screws colleges and college playgroups that would not benefit by having a retail store. While some of wizards excuses may be the possibility that TOs were faking events so that they could pocket promos, I think that is a bit silly. Lets be honest, it probably costs wizards a penny per foil promo card-- if that. The shipping is the major expense. And if wizards sells an extra 3 packs per TO that pockets a dozen FNM foils they still come out ahead. Also, this won't really stop TOs from doing that as brick and mortar stores may do that just as easily.
In general, less locations for FNMs will result in less magic played and less product sold. I think this hurts players and wizards. I'm upset by this announcment. I wish that there was a complain to wizards email. I suppose I'll go find a mark rosewater article and email him about what a crappy policy this is.

Mike has found the correct announcement . I am fairly unhappy with it, of course, and as you can all imagine, a lot of other people are as well. For now, I am going to do what I can to ensure this does not affect Magic Club's ongoing gaming. It might mean that december will again not have official FNM promos, but I'm am very hopeful to have this resolved ASAP

Well players in general will be taking a hit: www.deckcheck.net/ is being taken down. "Please note: Because of recent activities from WotC's side (for smaller parts this and for bigger parts this), this site will be taken down on October, 22nd. It's my decision and not some sort of take-down from Hasbro. I do it, because I don't support a game, that doesn't support its players. I will not sell the site, the domain, or my database, so please refrain from asking. A big "Thank you very very much!!" to all the players, TOs and judges who submitted decklists and who supported this site during its time being. Yours truly, EvilBernd." The this(s) he is referring to are (1st) magicdraftsim.com/ being taken down and (2nd) this recent WPN announcement. While it won't directly affect WotC the player base will now lose one of the better deck finding resources :/

I went 4-1 at the friday draft. When I checked my dci rank, it didn't show those matches as effecting my rating. However, it acknowledged that I had participated in them.

I'm pretty sure DCI updates on Wednesdays.

DCI Ratings only update every week or two, depending on a variety of factors. So it might be as much as 10-14 days to watch your rating update
