I don't know who any of the people or what any of the cards mentioned in this post are.

I don't think Yet Another AEther Vortex triggers ETB effects.

According to M10 rules, "in play" -> "on the battlefield."
When the card is revealed, it enters on the battlefield, as it becomes in that zone.
I'll ask about it, though.

Correction:
Apparently the rules team says (stupidly) that it triggers LTB but not ETB. Which is stupid, since the argument for it is that that's what phasing does. But that isn't what phasing does, as
"Zone-change triggers don’t trigger when a permanent phases in or out." - Comp. Rules
Thus, I argue that Maro or someone else was confused and there is no reason why this doesn't trigger ETB or LTB effects, as it IS entering the battlefield.

That's what you get for trying. Un-cards fail at sense-make.

Keep in mind the rules team's statements about unhinged came before they completely changed what phasing does. It used to *always* trigger LTB effects but not ETB effects.

That makes a lot more sense. I was wondering why it looked like even the rules team didn't understand something as simple and straight-forward as phasing.

Phasing used to have some rhyme and reason to it. Because it was its own zone with special rules. Now it works inconsistently because phased out is literally "on the battlefield, except no it isn't". Which makes NO sense because tokens still cease to exist (Which sort of made sense when they ended up in a zone other than in-play, because that's how the rules of tokes works, but they're on the battlefield at all times now so that's dumb.
Also counters stay on things. Tokens go away, but counters stay on things. Thanks for... 'fixing' the phasing rules guys.
