So I went to the M12 prerelease today (yesterday), and enjoyed it immensely. Assuming at least some of the rest of you attended an event (or else I wouldn't be posting this), I was curious as to how it went for you.
I didn't open much in my original 6 packs--my best pulls were a Grim Lavamancer and a Vengeful Pharaoh--but I got enough removal and decent commons/uncommons to place in the top 4 with a RB aggro deck and win 8 packs. There was the real jackpot: I opened a Chandra, a foil Sadbot, and a Primeval Titan. The kicker was, I beat out a couple decks with some real bombs in them, such as Grave and Sun Titans, Angelic Destiny, and another Chandra, with only two rares and no mythics of my own.
My favorite moments were Act of Treasoning a Sun Titan, attacking with it, and then Flinging it at its owner, and two mirror matches, one with my Pharaoh and my opponent's trading back and forth, and one against almost my exact deck, just with a Flameblast Dragon instead of a Lavamancer. I took a friend who opened a Grave Titan and he had a great time as well--definitely a highlight of my summer so far.
Anyway, how was everyone else's prerelease? Did anyone go at midnight, and if so, was it worth it?

I wasn't able to go since I'm forced to look at museums in Europe instead.

I opened a crappy pool with no good rares or anything. I had some good R/B removal but almost no good cards in those colors. I fooled around with U/G for a bit, but then went with a R/B burn strategy. My deck had these cards in it: 1 Incinerate 2 Shock 2 Tormented Soul 1 Consume Spirit 3 Lava Axe 1 Goblin Fireslinger 1 Sorin's Vengeance All my creatures were evasive, so I didn't have to interact with my opponent's creatures often. I only ended up going 2-2 unfortunately. The first loss was to a pretty good deck, though I had 3 draw steps to hit a 14 outer to win. (11 lands to hit my 7th for Sorin's Vengeance or one of the 3 Lava Axes). The second one I mulliganed 6 times in the match Also, the thing I'm worst at in this format (and Sealed in general) is knowing whether to play or draw.

Went 4-1 with a B/W deck. I could play 4 of my rares, but none of them were spectacular. Day of Judgment, Solemn Simulacrum (which helped me splash green for 2 Carnage Worms), Royal Assassin, and Rune-Scarred Demon. I did have 2 Gideon's Lawkeepers, 2 O-rings, and 2 Pacifisms though, so that was good. Pools were generally pretty sick where I went. There was one guy playing B/W with a Sun Titan and a Grave Titan, a U/W guy with a Sun Titan and a Frost Titan, one guy with 2 Gideon's Lawkeeper, Gideon's Avenger and Gideon himself.
Highlight of the prerelease though was when I beat some Asian kid and some dude watching told the kid he could have won if he had killed my Lawkeeper with Grim Lavamancer instead of my Royal Assassin. This was funny to me because while I was using the Lawkeeper to tap down his Wall of Torches (his only other creature for the remainder of the game), I had one O-ring and two Pacifisms sitting in my hand, one of which I would have gladly used to continue beating through but never needed to. Also, on the first turn of the first game he Shocked my face, and his Elixir of Immortality + Lavamancer non-bo was purdy funny.

I went to a prerelease at a con and even though I ended up needing to splash two colors into my deck to get the removal necessarily I placed 3rd.
oh and I opened chandra and prime-time.

I think its almost always correct to play with this set. It can end up being a race to who gets their bomb first. Midnight - Opened a pool with Grave titan, Garruk, Aegis Angel, Grim Lavamancer, Double Sengir Vamp, Double Gravedigger. Started off playing 3 Colors playing all my good stuff. Lost in the second round to the only person to 4-0 the event when he had creatures on turns 1-4 and then overrun, and in game 2 to getting stuck on 3 lands for the entire game. So I changed my deck every round from that point and played 2 color decks but having B/G being by far the best 3-1 Sunday before coming back to Troy - Grave Titan, Runescar Demon, Sadbot, Sorin. Played B/G because the green had some ramp etc went 4-0. Highlight was getting to play Grave Titan, swing in trade for his team, play the demon to tutor Sorin and play that. Yeah.

Also, more on the whole draw/play thing for this. The colors in this set seem extremely well balanced I saw many people with pools that could go in many directions simply due to each color having very strong cards in general. Also, Stingerflinger Spider is the nuts.

I felt like whoever got to play their titan or planeswalker first won. Sadly, I didn't have either. I was playing a aggo-ish Green/Red bloodthirst deck with 2 overruns. I was only able to cast 1 of them in the tourney going 2-2.
I got a sad bot though...
I also opened up the 7 mana 6/6 bloodthirst 6 dragon which was highly disappointing.

While I agree with your statement I beat a Grave Titan with Gravedigger x2 with the black mage in a game where I drew none of my bombs. XD

I played a red/white agro deck with a gideans avenger and sun titan. I placed 6th because the last two games i lost when my opponent played a runescar demon and searched up a grave titan, both games in both matches...

I played a grixis deck and i didnt have any answer to grave titan in the deck. I had a frost titan and a chandra firebrand, so i figured that i would play those. Black had solid removal, some solid creatures including sengire vampire.

I judged two prereleases (and some TCQs) at Connecticon. I didn't get many M12 cards at the convention itself, but I did get a Volcanic Island, a SoFi, two Jittes, and a few other cool little things, and I am getting 2 boxes of M12 in the mail. All as comp.
And I got to go to Connecticon for free. Good weekend.

I feel like perhaps you won your M12 prerelease then. Good job.
