Just a question to throw out to everyone:
What's the official opinion on banned/restricted cards?
For instance, Land Tax is banned in Legacy but is Legal in Vintage, not even restricted. I know in the case of cards as broken as Demonic Tutor we follow the restriction guidelines since that card is both banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage, but what's the call with the inbetween cards?
tl;dr, can I run only one land tax, or many? I'd probably want 3...

Multiplayer is usually pretty casual, personally, I don't really care what people run in terms of banned/restricted unless it's really over the top. Even DT isn't that powerful if you're playing against something with the same quality level.

I think the rule is/should be Common Sense.
I personally observe the Type 1 B&R (thus only 1 Sol Ring per deck), but I don't think any of us should be restrained by them.
B&R lists exist to keep environments from being unfun via brokeness. If anyone plays a deck that unfun via brokenness, one of four things will happen: 1. They'll be hated out/attacked first 2. They'll choose not to play any more 3. Someone will ask them not to play the deck 4. We'll ask them not to come back
But I think our environment is inherently self correcting.

I think my point was
Play as many Land Taxes as you want, if it's a problem, we'll let you know.

Quite honestly I think if you can use a similar card that is not banned/restricted go for that in multiplayer unless it is a unique effect that you need for your deck. I say this because although sol rings in your decks will not make it broken or ruin the game for everyone else, it does lead to a power level discrepancy between the people with the old banned cards and the newer players who don't. These cards are not as easily attainable with few floating around in club and most people unwilling to trade theirs away. You can almost always find a redesigned version of the card which may not be as strong but still usable for the purposes of multiplayer.

it depends what you are doing with the cards. DT is not banned because being able to put a toolbox together for 1B is broken. Its banned because it can be used to overly easily put a combo together. If you are not using it to put together a broken power level advantage it is very okay, and go ahead. Land Tax was banned because of Scroll Rack, not because it itself is bah roken
If you go Ancient Tomb, sol ring sol ring time spiral we are gonna be much angrier than simply using it as a turn accellerant.

So, since we all seem to be of an opinion that there should be no strictly enforced banned list... what about:
Build you decks with all relevant banned lists in mind. Be aware of why they are banned and don't seek to piss off the club. This is the reason we "strongly encourage" people not to play Kokusho.. it just isn't very fun and we have spoken out against it.
